When you look online and at the various app stores in existence, you will see that there are a lot of apps that have been designed to aid students in their education. However, it does not seem like there are a lot of such apps designed with teachers in mind. If you are a teacher who is looking to be able to review and monitor the progress of your students efficiently, you would be glad to know that some apps can help you achieve that aim.

In this article, I have put together some of the best apps that will help you review and access the progress of your students while helping you to carry out your duty as a teacher effectively. These apps will help reduce the burden you face as a teacher. Some of these have great features that allow you to carry out quizzes and many other educational activities.

Let us take a look at these apps now.

  • Google classroom

This is a great app that has brought a change to the way teachers carry out their duties in the classroom. The app allows you to get access to all of the G Suit tools such as Google Docs, Slides, Sheets, and Draw. Teachers can use the app to create various assignments for their students. It can also be used in attaching worksheet slideshows and web links and can even be used in setting deadlines for assignments. Teachers can also use the app to mark the work of students and return them to them.

Once a student is done with his or her work, the work gets saved automatically to their google classroom folder which is in google drive. This ensures that all work done is securely saved for you to look at later when you are free. It allows students to submit comments to the teacher in case the student requires assistance and wants you to know about it privately.

  • Apple classroom

Although the name may sound similar, you should note that apple classroom is quite different from google classroom. As with any app made by Apple, this teacher–aiding app is strictly meant for IOS and MacOs devices only. It allows the teacher to monitor his or her students. The use of this app would be great if you have devices made by apple in your school. With this, the teacher will be able to monitor what his or her pupils are doing on their Apple devices. The teacher will be able to see what the students are doing along with whatever app they have opened on their devices. Another great feature is the ability to control the devices of the students, bringing the unruly students in line. Although it may look like a simple app on the surface, it does way more than just monitor students. The teacher can open web pages on the students’ devices and keep them locked so that the students will not be able to look at something else while lessons are in progress.

  • iDoceo

This is a great app from Apple that allows you to manage a class with an iPad. This means that if you are not using an iPad, you cannot use this app since it is only available for iPad users. The app is more like a planner, diary, grade book, and scheduler all put together. It allows users to create their classes and import data. It also allows users to add files from different sources to any of their class bulletin boards. They can also send individual and bulk emails to their students. This is one of the best apps to get if you use an iPad to teach. However, you should note that it is not free. It costs 11.99 dollars in America and 11.99 pounds in England.

  • Vivi

This is a wireless presentation and screen monitoring app that allows teachers and their students to view the same screen. They can also annotate and save various contents in real time. This app can be used on all devices so you do not need to worry about the kind of OS you are using. The app however requires you to have a Blue Box plugged in your classroom so that you would be able to move around freely while teaching untethered. The app is however not free and costs quite a bit. It will cost you about $300 in the United States. I am sure that you will find it worth the money once you make use of it.

  • Flipgrid

This is an app that allows students to record video responses to the questions set by the teacher. We all know that a lot of students spend the majority of their time on social media, even when they are in school. With this app, that ethos is thus brought into the classroom and teachers can take advantage to allow the student to participate fully in the class. Students who normally do not participate in class would now be able to do so and offer their views on the things being discussed. Students are also able to explain their homework assignments in a more visual manner instead of writing them down. The app even allows the posting of videos similar to YouTube review videos on various subjects and getting feedback from their classmates.

  • Conclusion

So these are some of the best apps that help teachers monitor and get their students involved fully in whatever happens in the classroom. It allows teachers to access their students efficiently and effectively while making sure that the students can participate in what is going on. If you are a teacher looking to get the best out of your students, you should try one of these apps as soon as possible.
